Prisoner Halloween Costumes

Black and white stripes are out and orange is in this season daaarling ! Yes, in fact, as far as prison costumes go, orange is this seasons black…and white stripes. And what’s more, there’s just so much opportunity to accessorize an orange prison costume. Check out some of the best jumpsuit fashions for this Halloween season. What could be simpler than an orange jumpsuit at your next Halloween party. Sure you probably won’t get best costume prize but then you won’t have to suffocate yourself or come out in a rash wearing a zombie mask all night.

The orange jumpsuit is easy to wear and extremely comfortable (OJ Simpson can attest to that but as yet I am still waiting for his testimonial). If you don’t like standing out at a fancy dress party or really going for broke in the costume stakes then this will suit you to a tee. You can even wear it over your regular clothing. I guess this might come in handy if you have to stop off for gas and people think you are an escaped convict or something like that. Simply change into it as soon as you get to the party.

Most orange prisoner costumes are pretty minimal. There is not much in the way of patterns or embellishment on the suit. It might have a prison number on the chest. A more tongue in cheek costume might have busted or guilty or some such phrase across the back to give people a clearer idea of where you are coming from.

You can add to the costume by getting the arm restraints or ball an chain. The ball and chain attaches around one leg but it’s a little old fashioned these days. I’d say the arm restraints give your costume a more contemporary look.

The ultimate accessory for your orange prison costume is the face mask. This was made popular or notorious by Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 movie The Silence Of The Lambs (and many spoofs of the movie there after). This would give you a menacing demeanor and be quite scary when you first arrive at a fancy dress party. You could even be wheeled in on a trolley if you want to created added theater to your arrival.

You can also get sexy looking orange prison costume…not sure how this type of outfit measures up to the correctional services guidelines for inmate attire but I’m sure you’d like to see a picture anyhow. I wonder if people would be breaking into penitentiaries if they had inmates like this ?
