Ally Catraz Costume – Female Prisoner Costume
Here’s another prisoner costume fit for a costume party around the Halloween period. It’s called Ally Catraz after the time that Ally McBeal was locked up for 6 months at the Federal Correctional Institution Danbury in Connecticut. Although she claimed she was innocent of all charges, it was proved in Judge Judy’s courthouse that she did willfully eat a bagel with crème cheese and anchovies which is a crime against the palate. Oh, the costume might have a passing reference to the infamous prison located on Alcatraz island in the San Francisco Bay too…just maybe.

The Ally Catraz costume is basically a sexy costume that has a prison theme. Unlike many other costumes of this ilk, this costume uses the orange jumpsuit style convict costume for it’s inspiration. It would make a perfect partner costume for the orange jumpsuit male costume or even the psycho killer costume. This might be too much of the same though, so you could also think about pairing it with a cop costume or even a prison warder outfit.
The costume itself is quite simple. It is simply a mini dress, with low cut neckline and high cut hemline. What more could you want in a sexy dress ? Well how about a two way zipper. The zips are in the middle of the dress, one at the bottom of the dress and the other at the top (See the picture). So you can adjust the costume to your liking and comfort. By adjusting the zips you can make it more comfortable or more revealing depending on the type of affect you are hoping to create.
Feedback on the dress claims it is a very sexy outfit that is sure to get plenty of attention from other party goers. However it is quite simple and possibly a bit overpriced.
The costume also comes with a pair of handcuffs and a mugshot board (which is only paper and pretty flimsy apparently – maybe you could glue it to a piece of cardboard or wood to make it more sturdy). The dress has a print on the front and back saying “LA County Jail”. There is also a name tag with the name “Ally Catraz – Prisoner” on it.
All the props make for a bit of fun at a party and allow people to engage with you on your theme. It helps to flirt and have fun and the costume looks great too.
